Mónica has primarily worked on environmental and regulatory matters, specifically in Water Law, Electric and Environmental Law, and Extended Producer Responsibility. She has served as a legal advisor for law firms, the Chilean Government Agency (General Water Directorate), and ENGIE (formerly GDF-SUEZ), where she focused on water law, energy, environmental permits, indigenous law, mining permits, electric easements, and due diligence processes. She advised on wind, solar, and hydroelectric plants and was awarded a recommendation as Best Lawyer in 2012 for matters related to water rights. She also worked as Lead Counsel and Head of Natural Resources and Head of the Environmental Group at Del Río Izquierdo law firm in Santiago. She has been actively involved in the formation and advisory of Individual Management Systems under the framework of the Extended Producer Responsibility Law. She is currently pursuing a Master's in Latin American Studies at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, USA.
