Each year the members of the SARG, South America Regional Group of Lexwork International, have a meeting to discuss legal news in each of their jurisdictions, comparing the situation between the countries that are part of the block.
In 2019 the event was held in Santiago and the Chirgwin Peñafiel Law Firm was responsible for welcoming the lawyers Emilio Fontana from Allende Ferrante (Argentina), Fabiana Fonseca and Eduardo Chaves from Rayes e Fagundes (Brazil), both countries member of the group, in addition to the representative of the Lexwork Chair, Ron Levy of DE GRANDPRÉ CHAIT (Canada) and special guests, Tomas McRae and Christopher Gaytan both of SHIBLEY RIGHTON LLP (Canada).
We start on Thursday, August 22 with a walk through the SkyCostanera, the tallest tower in Latin America and a cocktail at the restaurant Le Quotidien. The work session was held on Friday, August 23 at the DoubleTree Hotel and during the afternoon authorities from Argentina, Brazil and Chile were present talking about the benefits to foreign investment in the region and we ended the evening with a pleasant Wine Experience offered by Garage Wine Co. in our offices. On Saturday 24 the group enjoyed a walk through the Aconcagua Valley, where we tasted vine varieties in the In Situ San Esteban Vineyard and had lunch at the Hotel Portillo, where the guests enjoyed the temperate swimming pools in the middle of the snow mountain landscape.
